For a while, the blonde just wandered a bit aimlessly, stopping at a shop here and there to have a quick glance. At one point, she caught the whisper of a man to his wife, expressing his disgust for humans. She taught him a lesson, that she did. She stared him down until his eyes met hers, then all hope was lost. His face scrunched up in agony and he sunk to his knees, face turning pale white. It only lasted a short moment, but it was enough to get the message across. When she ripped her eyes away from him, she grinned at his wife. The woman gawked at Aislinn before bending down to assist her husband. In the meantime, Aislinn wandered closer and whispered to them, "Don' ever judge a book by it's cover, b'cause it jus' may kill ya." With that, she carried along on her way, head in the air, a broad grin on her face. She didn' care that the man had been in such agony that it could have killed him. She also didn't care that his wife had been in shock. Nope, Aislinn didn't care.
The only thing she cared about was the fact that he'd made a rude comment. That angered her; in fact, it angered her so much, she found herself stepping into the Thieves Den before she could stop herself. Her blue hues took in the place and she let out a sigh. It was much better than outdoors, she supposed. So, she found herself sitting down at the bar. When the barkeep asked her what she wanted to drink, she kindly asked if they had any water. His eyes widened for a moment before he began to laugh lightly. "Yes, we have water, would you like a glass?" he asked, reaching for a mug. The blonde smiled and gave a curt nod, not bothering with mannerisms. They were never really her strong suit, seeing as how both her parents weren't exactly the most polite set of people. Anyways, she sat there, sipping her water, keeping to herself.
A range of noise went on behind the lass, but she wasn't exactly aware of it. Her mind was someplace else. In fact, it wasn't really anywhere. She swirled the ice in her water around a few times before slamming it down. "I need a new hobby..." she muttered. The barkeep let out a chortle, coming to stand across from her as he cleaned a glass. "It wouldn't be so bad if you had a little drink and had a little fun." His joke felt like a stab. Aislinn looked up at him through her eyelashes, looking a little less than pleased.
"Been there, done that." Her words were a bit sharp, but soon a smile crawled across her face and she sat up straighter. "But thanks for the suggestion." Her smile brightened a little and the man kind of looked at her like she was psycho.[/style] [style=font-family:georgia; font-size:8px; color:#000000; text-align:center;]created by shiki @ ote[/style] |

Dresdin didn't like going out into public much, especially when it was by himself. It made him uneasy to be around so many people he didn't know, and didn't have either of his blonde skyscrapers to watch his back if some shit went down. He wasn't paranoid for just any reason, either. True, the dark haired man had several irrational issues, such as his immense distrust for the supposedly 'normal' people or polar bears. It was because of these phobias, as well as many, many others, that Dresdin preferred to at least be in the company of another person when he was in public. Animal shifters made the best bodyguards, as a lot of them seemed to be a lot stronger than normal humans or any person who could stand to spend five minutes with him in the same room. And unfortunately, it seemed that this particular case currently applied to the shady demon. One of the alleged blonde skyscrapers was currently pissed off as hell at him and had forced him to leave his own goddamn house for awhile. Donovan could be such a stubbornass sometimes, why couldn't he see that his much shorter partner was right? He always was, goddammit. How could he not have understood this by now?
At the time when he had stormed out of his own place in an annoyed rage, he hadn't really thought of any of this. And once this had hit him, he had been awfully tempted to just go back home and hang out in his office awhile and then act like nothing happened when the Irish bastard finally came home from work. But after realizing that he was already halfway in the middle of town, he decided to just fuck it and find something to do. Demimonde wasn't his idealistic place to live, as it was filled to the gills with drunk-ass pirates who threatened to do stuff they were far too plastered to even attempt. He preferred Anabur, really. At least there weren't as many pirates there. The demon couldn't stand pirates, they were just a waste of space and usually ruined business. Plus, he also knew the streets better in Anabur. Having grown up in the area, he was familiar with pretty much every nook and cranny of the entire city. And there were definitely less hole-in-the-wall bars that could pass for either a cop station or a booze bin. So when Dresdin actually managed to unknowingly waltz into a bar, you understand completely.
The demon frowned once the bell attached to the door rung, discovering a crappy bar, rather than something far more interesting. Even from the entrance, he could tell that this place was full of drunks of every kind. And yes, there were plenty of pirates, too. Though most of them were seated at the tables that had all been pushed together in the back of the bar. Dresdin only sighed and flopped at an open seat at the far end of the bar counter. He didn't drink that much, for several reasons that he didn't care to think about. The most embarrassing being that he was incredibly lightweight and what would normally knock him out would be considered a shot to his burly, Irish jackass of a boyfriend. There was also the whole having to walk home thing, and he wasn't in the particular mood to get mugged. He wasn't that great of a fighter and would probably be outmatched if there was no chance for a evasion- especially when he was drunk.
So instead, he just waved the bartender away when he attempted to ask him what he wanted to drink after talking to the weird blonde chick. Dresdin lit up a cigarette with his finger and dragged, his attention turning back to the annoying girl as the bartender rolled his eyes and went on to cleaning beer glasses near the shady demon. Dresdin squinted his unusual eyes as he stared at the girl, his eyes widening the moment he saw the name that flashed in front of him. Aislinn Last, one crazy bitch, she was. And not in the fun way, like you might think, either. "Awh hell.." he muttered under his breath, as he dragged the smoke.

Aislinn was just about to banter the bartender some more when the bar door opened, causing the little bell to chime. The blonde watched as a gentleman walked in, his mind seemingly elsewhere. She couldn't help but notice how incredibly unpleasing he was to the eye. And now I remember why I used to be a drunkard, she thought, laughing to herself and causing the bartender to look at her a bit funny once more. It seemed he was going to start thinking her stranger and stranger. She turned her attention away from Ugly-Mug and let out a soft sigh. "How's 'bout another round of water?" she asked, wiggling her glass a bit before the bartender. He snatched her glass away from her before moving down to the other end to help the dark-haired male. Blue orbs followed the man as he cleaned her glass. Did that mean no more water? She slid slowly out of her chair and started to move slowly down the bar to where the two men were. When she was close enough, she smirked. The bartender stared at her for a long moment before he let out a yelp. The glass in his hand had melted. "So. That water. Am I gonna get it? Or should I start melting other things?" her gaze turned toward the wall of booze. He let out another shout and stood between her and the wall, a glass of water in hand. "That's more like it." She took the glass and sat down in one of the stools once more, this time closer to that ugly new-face.
She finished the water quickly and sighed for a second time in the ten minutes since the new guy walked in. She turned to look at him, squinting those azure hues of hers. "You seem a bit out of place, don' ya think?" she asked, looking him up and down. He wasn't so bad looking up close. Except for the smug look on his face. And the cigarette in his hand. She looked down at it for a second and it burned a bit faster before going out. Then, Aislinn looked back at him, an eyebrow raised. "On second thought. You fit in fine. You're just as ugly as the rest of these thugs." Her blunt statement swirled around in the air for a moment before she waved her hand, as if to wave the comment away. It was actually to wave the barkeep over, and he appeared, with another glass of water. Apparently, when you melt glasses, people start to worry you'll do it again. Aislinn smiled and took the glass, swishing him away with her hand. She turned a bit in her stool and smiled at the stranger. She was seemingly in a good mood. Aside from the little incident, she hadn't tried to kill anyone. Still, there was always room for improvement. She let her feet swing back and forth as she blinked at the man, staring at him for a long while.
She was testing the waters, you could say. To see if this man would get pissed. After a moment, she laughed and turned back to face the wall holding all the booze. "So why are you in a bar like this? You're dressed a bit too prissy to be a pirate."

He had hoped that she wouldn't notice him. Aislinn appeared to be preoccupied with the bartender, giving him a hard time and melting glasses. The melting made the demon smile a bit, even watching other people burn shit gave him a bit of a thrill. His amused smile soon faded into a usual smirk, a cigarette hanging limp in the corner of his mouth. With a free hand, he raked his fingers through his hair and and sighed, ignoring the girl's otherwise obnoxious banter. Her entire demeanor was annoying to him, which made it difficult for the demon to remember why he had ever wanted to date her in the first place. It had seemed like so long ago, that he couldn't remember if he had ever had actual feelings for her or if had been purely a sex thing. Whether the feelings had actually been there or not, it didn't really matter, as of now he had absolutely no feelings other than disdain for the blonde halfbreed.
"You seem a bit out of place, don' ya think?" she asked, breaking his train of thought. His attention and head turned to face the owner of the voice, who just so happened to be Aislinn. Dresdin blinked, the hand on his head clenching a little as his smirk sunk a little. Out of place? He hadn't ever really thought of himself as being out of place, even for a pirate bar. He assumed he just would blend in with the furniture like he usually did in most places. But more importantly, did she not recognize him? Dresdin's grip loosened a little, feeling almost at ease suddenly. She didn't recognize him. If she had, she probably would've tackled him to the floor with a knife in hand already. That bitch was batshit with some serious anger management. It felt almost like a gift from the gods that she didn't seem to know who he was. They hadn't dated for terribly long, as it hadn't taken them that long to realize how much they truly disliked each other.
But if she didn't recognize him anyway, he might as well stick around for a bit. All he had to do was of two things, one, not aggravate her, and two, keep it on the down low so she wouldn't realize who she had been talking to for awhile. If she did any of those things, he was close enough to the door that he could sprint out of here and hopefully evade the halfbreed's wrath. Before he could think of a witty reply, she cut him off again. To this, he only rolled his eyes and returned to his own thoughts. Perhaps she'd leave him alone if she thought him to be nothing more than another lowlife in a shitty bar. He took a drag of his almost dead cigarette, before putting it out and ordering something non-alcoholic from the bartender. He only snorted, grumbling about going to a juice bar before shoving a glass towards Dresdin and moving onward to the piss drunk customers on the other side of the counter.
After his first sip, the girl had lost interest in others and had turned back to the dark haired demon. Her expression and evident good mood made him uneasy. Was she about to stab him or something? And what was she saying about him being 'too prissy'? What the hell was she talking about? True, pirates were absolutely disgusting and usually owned only one or two outfits but, seriously? Nobody else really seemed to notice him but her and the bartender, but that didn't mean much, considering everyone else in the bar was completely or on their way to being plastered. Dresdin shrugged and took a sip from his drink, looking over at the blonde girl. There were a few others in the bar who weren't pirates, himself included, who were still criminals. The ones he recognized were hitmen and thieves mostly, some of them he had even worked with once or twice. The demon shrugged again. "Why not?" he continued as he shoved the empty glass back over to the bartender. "I'd take that as a complement, but it's not that difficult evidently." he mused, less afraid, but curious to see if her temper flared up or not.
