Bardaros, this town had everything that Sam could ask for when it was about taking some time off the job she was having, which was guarding the Prince of the faeries. She had always liked how lively this town seemed to be. Not only was it her home town but it always managed to entertain her enough and make her forget about the troubles she was dealing with such as how stubborn her father was about her gender. She knew that he had always wanted a son but he had her instead, a girl. People who would see her in her guard uniform would barely know of it considering that she had short hair. Though, those who knew, knew. She didn’t mind the people who were mistaking her gender, take her Prince as an example; he never knew and she was perfectly fine with it. She didn’t know about if her father would take it if it was known in the royal palace…though she doubted it was already. Some treated her differently lately, which she hated. She wanted to please her father, she didn’t want to disappoint him. She needed to try to be as perfect as she could and respect and get the others to respect the law just as Zachariah had taught her back then.
Speaking of which, she wondered about what he was up to; she had heard that quite some drama was going into the navy, people getting corrupted and all. Part of her was glad that she didn’t have to deal with it, considering that she had enough with her personal life. She sighed as she wandered down the streets with masculine clothes. She didn’t hide the fact that a few dresses caught her attention but she knew she could forget about it. Or more like, should forget about it if she still wanted her father to respect her. Despite how hard she had tried to prove him that she could do things like a boy, he still refused to let her be…feminine. She got used to it, but still…
She stopped at a stand to grab a few vegetables for the dinner she would make for her father. The man was also a solder, but for the navy and not for the royal guard like she was. It was his dream to have a son following his path. What was hers? She didn’t know…she guessed it was to protect her Prince and make sure he would be out of trouble…in reality, she had no particular dreams, not that she could think of except maybe to have a normal father but she presumed that it would never happen so she had no dream to speak of.
She didn’t pay much attention to what was going on, filling up her basket and thanking the merchant before paying for the food she turned around, seeing and hearing a commotion near by. Wondering about what it was, she decided to go to it and see what it was with her two eyes. Her father wouldn’t be mad at her after all; he was at work still.

With a little skip in his step, Kelvin trotted down the street in the shopping district. His lack of a normal gait was mostly due to the fact that he'd been deprived of dancing. The last couple days out at sea were witness to rough waters and it was just a tad difficult to keep a rhythm on a boat that refused to stay still. Music was in his blood.
As he went along, he was also nibbling idly on a daisy. Not that it particularly tasted good, he just liked the texture of the flower against his tongue. He was also humming a tune to himself, something he'd heard when passing by the town's inn. Everything about him and what he was doing screamed Faerie and because of that, he was getting some looks. Mostly from humans, of course. They could stare all they wanted, it didn't matter to him. Besides, they'd be the ones he'd screw over when he was feeling particularly mischievous. They always seemed to make the easiest 'victims'...
Speaking of which, a particular merchant seemed to catch Kelvin's eye. Of course, anyone selling any sort of jewelry always had his attention, but this one was different. He seemed to be particularly interested in a pair of earrings he had. They were quite pretty, made of what seemed like jade, although it was obvious they weren't for sale. Instead, the merchant seemed to be gawking at them and tenderly feeling them with his stubby finger. Ugh, weird. The earrings did look rather unique though... Kel was getting the impression they were a one-of-a-kind or rare piece, hence the hesitation to sell them and the unnerving obsession over them.
"Excuse me, sir." Kelvin announced, as he approached the stand. The merchant, a rather rotund human with bushy eyebrows, turned to face him. He didn't seem too pleased about being interrupted. "But how much do you think I could get for these?" Kelvin pointed to his own earrings, a string of colorful jewels. He couldn't help but stifle a smirk when the bushy eyebrow man settled his eyes on Kelvin's ears. The moment he did that, the earrings transformed into the jade ones he was just admiring.
"Wh-Wha--!?" The man sputtered, in disbelief. He quickly shot his gaze to the earrings he was just admiring, and found that they appeared to be Kelvin's own earrings. It was a simple trick, really. Just switching the appearance of two objects this man was focusing on.
"How... How did you get those!?" The man demanded, his pudgy face already growing red. He was also pointing an accusing finger at Kelvin's ears. The Faerie boy simply blinked at him in confusion, tilting his head a bit to the side. "You stole them!" The man accused, gaining attention from everyone in the vicinity due to his raised voice. Kelvin couldn't believe his luck when he noticed a few guards tense up nearby.
"What did I steal, exactly?" Kelvin asked innocently.
"M-My earrings! My jade earrings!" Of course, everyone was not under this petty illusion. Just the man. So, to them, it seemed like he was crazy. The jade earrings were obviously still in his shop, and Kelvin's own earrings didn't resemble them in the slightest.
"You Faerie bastard! Give them back!" He bounded out from his merchant stall, grabbing at Kelvin, who jumped back just a tad to avoid the man's outstretched hand. He hovered with his wings a bit, watching in amusement as the guards responded quickly and came down on this crazed man.
"He has my earrings! They're a family heirloom!! I swear he stole them!" The man continued to desperately explain his situation, but the guards wouldn't have any of it. Besides, to them it seemed pretty straightforward and obvious. As they hauled the man away, due to his behavior becoming increasingly erratic and dangerous, Kelvin gently touched back down on the ground. He watched as the guards struggled to hold the man up and drag him away due to his weight. As the rest of the crowd snickered at this, Kelvin put a hand to his side and giggled much like a child would. Thankfully, the guards did seem to actually drop the man and further capture the bystander's attention. He took this opportunity to covertly make his way over to the stand and snatch those jade earrings. Family heirloom, huh? The jade wasn't his style, but they had to be worth a pretty doubloon.
Kelvin slipped back into the crowd as they began to continue on with their day. Unfortunately, he wasn't paying attention and bumped into someone. A couple of vegetables sprung out of their basket and hit the ground.
"Oops!" Kel chirped with a smile, and swiftly went to pick them up. His new earrings were tucked safely in his pocket. "Sorry about that." He smiled at the person he'd inconvenienced, who on closer inspection was another faerie boy with a pretty face.
"Hey, what's your name? You seem a bit familiar." Kel placed his hands on his hips and leaned in towards the other person. Were they famous? Is that why they seemed a bit familiar?

Sam approached the crowded as she heard the people in it whispering. What was going on? She heard a merchant who seemed to be more than displeased about something she had no ideas about. Weird she thought until she heard the merchant yelling over his earrings. Weird she thought with a shrug. It wasn’t her job anyways and she knew that as soon as the yells faded away, the merchant was gone and everyone returned to their business. Oh well, she didn’t assist to the scene so she wasn’t going to be there to judge or help; she was on a day off and really, taking care of the prince was even more exhausting than taking care of the town itself.
Deciding that she wasn’t going to worry about that little incident, she turned around, walking down the street until someone bumped into her. She blinked as a few of her food fell onto the ground. She hoped they’d still be edible because even if she was winning decent money now, she still didn’t like to waste food.
“Oh it’s okay…” she said staring down at the boy who was picking the food up. He was the one who bumped into her? No wonder why his voice sounded oddly familiar; it was Kelvin, one of her old neighbours back then. She wondered about if he remembered of her….scratch that she thought as he questioned about the familiarity of her face. She frowned as she looked at him for a few moments, hesitating to reply to him. Did she really have a face not to remember? Or was it because she still looked masculine?
Her reflex when he leaned towards her was to back up a little; she never liked people invading her personal space; the prince was doing that enough already and even if it was her neighbour, she was just not used to the matters. “You really don’t remember me, Kelvin?” she asked, disappointment showing into her voice. She straightened up a little when she felt she was into a comfortable distance.
“Sam Ayers, we used to be neighbours.” She pointed out simply. Surely he’d remember or else, she thought that he was a little bit too young to forget already. She was, after all, older than he was. They got along well back then, sure she was busy with training and what not to become a bodyguard but when she was around home she always enjoyed to talk to the younger faerie. He somehow brought life to her dull routine and he was proving it once again at the right moment. She wondered about what he was doing for a living now that he was grown up. She didn’t want to stalk him though; she was just curious and always was interested into the people whom were nice to her.

Kel didn't indicate that he was bothered at all when the boy leaned back once his personal space was invaded. Must be the shy or reserved type, it seemed. Either that, or he was playing hard to get! Kel wanted to snicker at this thought but instead stifled a smirk. What? It was acknowledged this person had a pretty face, wasn't it?
He blinked in confusion when he was accused of not remembering the victim of his clumsiness. So there was a reason this boy seemed familiar. He knew he wasn't going crazy!
When the name was revealed, Kel hummed a cute "Hm?" and straightened up himself. His brown eyes scanned the boy in front of him from head to toe. That almost feminine figure (well, you know... for a faerie. But they all looked slightly feminine anyway) and big brown eyes... ah! It had to be.
"Sam!" Kel dropped his fist into his open palm lightly, his face reflecting that of a light bulb going off in his head. "Jeez, I didn't recognize you," he exclaimed sheepishly, blushing a bit and nervously scratching at his face with his finger. They used to be neighbors, that was true. He always seemed to be going with whatever his dad said and honestly being a bit boring. It was up to Kel and his brother, of course, to drag Sam out of the neighborhood and do some pretty crazy things. Kel especially used to tease Sam about being to 'stuffy' and 'uptight'.
"Haha, what are you wearing?" He ignored the personal space boundaries to reach over and tug on the sleeve of Sam's guard uniform. "It looks so stuffy. Doesn't it bother you?" Sam's outfit compared to his own... well, let's just say they were complete opposites. Kel had as much skin showing as possible without looking like he wanted to sell his body. Hey, it was hot here and besides, he really liked feeling the wind and the sun on his skin. Who didn't? Unless you were a Human or something, who'd rather be holed up in a building all day. Ugh, or even a Golem.
"Let me guess!" Kel exclaimed, retracting his hand. He held up both of his index fingers, pointing upwards to the sky. "You're someone reeaaally important." Well, the outfit for Sam did look quite official.

Sam wasn’t sure about how she was supposed to feel about the boy who was invading her personal space until she recognized him. He had always been like this from the time she recalled to have hanged out around with him as a neighbour. Some times were fun but she knew fairly well that it wasn’t the time for this anymore. She was a bodyguard, what kind of picture she would send to the people if she was found to act like a child…like back then? It was still nice to see some familiar faces around though-even if he didn’t seem to remember of her name at first.
She arched an eyebrow as he too straightened himself. She never really liked the attention of people she could get, especially not from girls who didn’t know her right gender. She was uncomfortable with any kind of flirting gestures anyways.
She stared at the male as he finally recalled of her and nodded at him. At least, she was someone to remember; she’d feel bad if she was not worth a memory. “And I thought I’d be the only one wearing these kinds of clothes.” She commented though it was true that now that she was a body guard, her clothing had to be fancier to represent the authority. Not that she liked wearing her bodyguard outfit during days off-she didn’t want to guard others, she was in vacation and really, you needed vacations when you were guarding the fairy prince!
She frowned as he grabbed her clothes, feeling tensed again. She was tolerating Kelvin to invade her space, though she had to admit that she never really liked this when males did that, especially him or Noah. They both were similar in some ways, yet very different. She backed away shyly a little unsure about how she was supposed to react to such a gesture. “Uh…not really…” she answered awkwardly.
She ran a hand through her hair while her other was holding her basket of vegetables. He seemed to be excited her again, which was nice but then again, she never knew what to expect of Kelvin. She shrugged at his comment. “I’m on a day off though…this isn’t the official clothing…”she pointed out because everyone knew that when you were a royal bodyguard, your outfit screamed it.

As Sam backed up a step and answered his inquiries, Kel put a hand to his forehead and shuffled his hair around a bit. It was a bit hot today and he wished a convenient breeze would cool him off at this particular moment. Of course it didn't, and he was forced to withdraw his hand and feel his hair stick to his forehead.
It seemed like Sam was indeed assigned something of a certain level of importance, but he wouldn't outright say it. Come to think of it, Kel had heard of the Prince getting a new bodyguard recently but... Was it possible it was Sam? Kel had to discreetly give Same one more calculative glance. He didn't exactly seem like the type of person to guard anyone. If anything, his slender build would have fit dancing better.
"Well, if you're going shopping," Kelvin began, ignoring the fact that Sam had avoided the essence of his question. "Then let me tag along. It's been awhile and honestly I'm kinda bored today." He flashed an innocent smile towards Sam, and suddenly the earrings that still resided in his pocket seemed to weigh heavily. Yeah, definitely bored...
He decided to tug onto Sam's wrist to get him moving, obviously not giving him a choice in the matter. When Kel grabbed his wrist, however, he realized how thin it was. The shock of that had him quickly let go, and he turned his head away from Sam slightly so he wouldn't see Kel's surprised face. The last time he felt a wrist that small was when he was holding hands... with a girl.
As the thought jumped around in his head a bit, he noticed a flowerbed off to the side. This may be a legitimate town, but there seemed to be some sort of vegetation: flowers, plants, small trees, in every place they could fit them. Kel realized the sunflower he'd been chewing on had somehow been discarded in the commotion earlier, so he didn't hesitate in plucking two flowers out from that flowerbed. He'd found a light blue one for himself and a pink one... for, well, Sam of course. He couldn't shake that suspicion. So, after sticking the blue one behind his ear, he stuck the pink one behind Sam's ear. He didn't say anything, just smiled sweetly in a way that told Sam he'd be disappointed if it was taken out.
"So, so... Where are we going? If you don't answer me, I'm dragging you to a jewelry store!" Ah, what could he say? He had a bit of an obsession. But it was up to Sam, of course, so Kel gently place his hands on his own sides and looked at Sam expectantly.

Sam looked up at Kelvin, she didn’t tell him her job because she thought he wanted to guess, but she assumed that she could tell him in the end, why not? It wouldn’t be too bad for him to know that she was now a royal bodyguard. Not a lot of people were taking her seriously because she was petite but she was a strong one and trained by one of the best navy men that were around. She mentally thanked Zachariah for supporting her during the entire time she was there at the navy base to get the decent training. She smiled softly at the thought as she gazed down at her feet for a few moments.
She stared back at him as he said he would tag along with him. She wouldn’t mind it; he was of good company even if at times, his personality was pretty much like Noah’s which was annoying sometimes but considering that it had been so long since she had spoken to him. She didn’t mind it, at all, even if he could get annoyingly persistent. She nodded at him, smiling slightly. “Sure, if I can entertain you.” She said as she held onto her basket but soon, Kel decided to lead the way and held onto her wrist, only to release it quickly. She blinked, staring at him curiously as she couldn’t catch a glance on what was going on. She frowned. “Uh, is something wrong?” She asked him. She stared down at her hand wondering about if it was about her but she didn’t see anything…
She stared at the flowers into an awe, thinking that she could make a bouquet for her father and was about to pick up a few, only to let her hand fall down as she remember her father might just get grumpy about it since he wanted so bad for her to be a male…this was certainly unmanly. She was about to object about the flower Kel placed into her hair but sighed seeing her friend’s eyes. Fine, she would keep it, for now though she’d have to remove it while at home. Sad.
She pondered about the shops she had to go to. She did pretty much all of the grocery, at least, with the vegetables and if she was going to hit a few shops, she would need to wait before buying meat and the rest. “Ah, I need clothes.” She said thoughtfully. She could get a few clean sweaters and a new pair of pants. “…but I guess we can hit a jewelry store after that.” She agreed, giving him a small smile in the process.

"Nope!" He chirped in response to Sam asking if anything was wrong. The poor guy (girl?) probably thought there was something infectious on his (her?) hand. Kel kind of felt bad about it, but at the same time he wasn't about to make up some sort of hand-phobia so Sam felt better about having his (her?) dropped as if it were poison.
Kelvin was glad that Sam had complied with the presence of a flower being in his (her?) hair. Although it was something he would have done anyway, he wanted to see Sam with something that was considered feminine. Honestly, he/she pulled it off pretty well. The pink actually looked good, and that didn't exactly alleviate Kel's suspicions.
As Sam mentioned he needed clothes, Kelvin barely had a chance to nod before his attention was torn. A butterfly happened to saunter on by, a result of the masses of flowers and such this street possessed. The wings on the butterfly were a bright orange, and Kelvin couldn't help but have a wide-eyed, curious look as it sort of flew around his head. He kind of looked like a little kid doing this, but he didn't want to lose sight of it so quickly. After flying around for a bit, the butterfly landed softly on the back of Sam's hand. Kelvin couldn't help but giggle as the butterfly stretched and retracted its wings several times. He put a hand over his mouth afterwards, because that laugh was more innocently childish than he intended it to be.
After chilling for a little while, the butterfly flew off. Kelvin watched it go before looking back at Sam. "Alright, but if you're getting clothes, I get to choose the store." He flashed Sam a mischievous smile before leading the way. Kel had to venture off of this market street and into a particular part of town that was a bit more high-end. "Don't worry, I'll pay." Kelvin noted before Sam had a chance to protest.
They entered a small clothing store. The bell above the door chimed and they were soon bombarded with a flowery scent. After being greeted by the sales rep, they ventured further into the store. Kel knew it was only a matter of time before Sam realized this place sold not only strictly fae fashion, but feminine clothing. Kel liked coming here sometimes, preferring Fae clothing over anything else.
Kel turned around and looked at Sam expectantly, his arms crossed across his chest. The position stretched his abdominal muscles a bit, which were quite obviously exposed. The sleeveless shirt he was wearing had a mid drift, and yes, he did find it here. Anyway, more importantly, he had to see how Sam would react to Kel bringing him (her?) here. If Sam was actually a girl, it would kind of piss him off.

Sam observed her friend for a few moments before shrugging and deciding to let it go for now. Anyways, what could have she done wrong? She didn’t think she did anything that was misplaced so unless it was important, she assumed that her friend would at least mention it wouldn’t he? She looked at him for a few moments until he placed the flower into her hair. She had to admit that it looked nice; it wasn’t something she was going to let her friend do every day but why not now that she had a day off? People wouldn’t notice and the Prince would be dumb enough to think she was a gay guy or something of the likes if he was to ever notice her that way. She rolled her eyes at the thought.
She observed Kelvin as she stated that she needed clothes. He didn’t seem to be worried about it but he soon got distracted by a pretty passing by butterfly. She had to admit the too found it pretty and she even smiled softly when she saw it land onto her hand. She took the opportunity to observe it more closely. It was amazing, the color of their wings. It was as pretty as fairy wings she thought as she looked at it in awe. Hearing her friend laugh brought her back to reality and watched the butterfly fly off. She put the hands into her pockets and looked at Kelvin as he spoke, claiming that he would decide on the shop they would go to. She shrugged, not minding it at all. “Fine with me.” She said. “You don’t have to pay, I have a decent job and I can pay for my own clothes..” She just had to object, Kelvin didn’t have to pay for her clothes; she would feel bad about it if it was the case.
She followed him, and looked at the people around until they entered into a small looking store. The bell chimed as they entered and Sam looked around. Wait...why were they into a feminine clothing shop? She blinked and looked at him curiously. “This is not really the kind of clothes I ne-“ she stopped spotting a dress, a pretty light pink one. She never bought a dress before honestly and no one actually caught her eyes. She shook her head. “I can’t guard the Prince into these clothes...” she finally said only frowning as she heard a few girls giggling into the back. What were they laughing at? She saw them whispering between each other and looked down at her clothes. Why did they have to judge you by the way you looked? She knew that her current clothing wasn’t fitting the ambiance of the shop...it actually clashed but that didn’t mean she wanted to get everyone’s attention! Her eyes were set on that dress though but she knew that she simply couldn’t afford it. No way in hell; her father would be terribly mad at her if he knew.
