Zachariah Dawson wasn't afraid to admit he wasn't perfect. He was well aware of his many, many flaws. Many, he honestly couldn't help, such as his several mental conditions he had acquired, like many other seasoned soldiers. He'd seen and done horrible, horrible things during the time of war. It was a miracle what modern medicine could do and what the "specialists" knew these days. The blonde was almost completely functional, always. Some days were better than others, but for the most part- his moods were in check. He didn't have fucking war visions as much as he had as a younger man. Being a man with a mood disorder, Zach found it difficult to sometimes control his feelings and his reactions. He had almost mastered the technique of keeping cool; though a very small amount of people were able to see the weakness in his armour. One of those people was Admiral Zoe Bones, a woman considered his equal in the Navy.
Everything she did generally irked the blonde angel in one way or another. She enjoyed it, and wasn't afraid to tell him so. Generally, Zach could keep his cool, even around her. As of yet, she hadn't ever made him truly angry. She'd gotten pretty close on a few occasions, but never to that extremity. There was just something so.. Irritating about the golem that just brought out everything ugly in the blonde angel. When she was around him, he became far more sarcastic than he cared for. True, sometimes it was amusing to annoy her in return. He tried to keep himself from acting upon his own vices as often as possible. Zach knew for a fact that she was looking for any reason to get him fired. But sometimes? He just couldn't help it.
You see, the angel had always been.. Competitive. With practically everything, especially when he had been a far younger man. He had mellowed out sometime as he went through boot camp- though the intense desire to compete still burned. This was one of his biggest behavioral problems when he was around that wretched woman. His desire to prove her wrong and to do whatever far better than her was strong. He had tried to keep himself from doing so, but, it never really seemed to work. With this being sad, you can imagine why every Navy recruit ever dreaded the horror stories of boot camp. Every newbie had to go through the course before being permitted their proper uniform and authority. It was hard work, filled with drills and conditioning, though it had a low percent of people who did not graduate or just straight up quit.
The boot camp was usually taught by one of the Sergeants that lurked around the Navy's main base here in Billet Doux, however, once a year or so, the admirals would commandeer one of the trainee classes. This was probably the worst outcome, considering the two admirals who ran the class were so focused on outdoing the other- they often forgot about how trainees were still soft and pathetic creatures. Admiral Dawson smirked, in his actual uniform for once. He wasn't a fan of it, as it was heavy and uncomfortable. Zach preferred jeans and a sweatshirt any day over the over the top garb. He at least, had taken off the jacket and unbuttoned some of the buttons on the fancy white dress shirt and rolled up the sleeves. "C'mon, ladies! Only a hundred more pushups!" he barked, shaking his head disapprovingly at the lazy cadets. "Bones' guys aren't that much farther behind- lets move it!" He had to admit, they were getting much farther this year now that they had split the group of cadets in half. It was much easier to prove that he was far more deserving of his position than she. "Having fun, Bones?" he looked over at his fellow admiral, an almost arrogant smirk spread across his face.

Zoe wasn’t the typical neighborhood’s mean girl. Sure, she hated almost everyone and had rivals, sure she liked to cause havoc and destroy things but there was one thing that could be labelled as normal she liked to do and it was to torture…train the new navy men; most of the time they were pathetic women. She and Zachariah were the ones who were to train them today and they had taken the decision to split the group of new soldiers in two in order to train them. Of course, this was mainly for the competition where she could prove him how better of an Admiral she was to him. It was thrilling in a way and it was probably the only time of the year she could stand having Zachariah near her because let’s face it; he was the only one in this poor navy who was able to provide her the best competition. No one else could ever outcome her.
She watched the men doing the circuit she had created for them; forcing them to do it over and over again. She didn’t care about their complaints, nor about hearing them whining about how hard it was. What did they think it was? Fun? Navy meant to protect the people and either she didn’t care for them, she had to still make the best. It was all in her plans to get Zachariah fired after all. She had to prove herself to be better than the blonde angel with the ugly hair style. Tch, perhaps she could accidentally throw a sword in his direction while speaking to the newbs.
“What a bunch of ladies you are! We must be stronger than blondie, what a bunch of wimps I’m stuck with!” She growled at the group of exhausted soldiers. The world was truly going down with the poor quality of soldiers they had. It was sad, really.
She smirked back at Zachariah as he spoke to her and shrugged at him. “Better than destroying your furniture, I have to admit.” She replied. Of course, destroying people were always better than cutting wood which was easily replaced the next few days which meant that for now she would probably leave him alone as long as she was having fun still to train all these dumb men. If they were to be the new law, she didn’t want to think about the navy’s future. It would fail for sure…
