Try as you might, you can't expect peace to happen overnight.
Indeed. Peace doesn't happen overnight, but for a while, everyone thought it had. The threats to each of the worlds had vanished. Everything returned to normal, and the saviours of their home worlds resumed their lives. The rebuilding of peace started, but it didn't last.
Something happened that sent the worlds into disarray again. A sudden burst of resentment, rage and hate emitted by the souls of the dead rivals that once threatened their worlds caused a dark wave to spread across each and all of the worlds...
... with every action there is a reaction. The lives lost to the fight for peace and their desire of hope and well-being emitted a powerful light shield that tried to block the darkness. The struggle of both forces was so great, so powerful, that it affected all of the worlds. The darkness that rose across the worlds caused a rift between the dimensions, thus sending people into different worlds and places they didn't even know. The lives lost to previous wars were restored; but no memory remained of the lives they had previously led.
... And the warriors that once sought their selfish goals returned as well, fueled by their desire for revenge, willing to get back at those who stopped them. Fueled by new dark powers, they started hunting for their old rivals, anxiously waiting to take their revenge. Who's to say their rage won't become the merciless rain that will bring the worlds down?
It all depends, of course... on you.
